Light yellowish to reddish-brown in color with workers measuring 1/15 to 1/12 inch long. Their small size which enables them to get into almost anything and their very wide food preference make them difficult to eradicate from structures. The colonies tend to be very large with tens or hundreds of thousands of workers and many queens. They have a double node on the section between their torso and rear section.
